Celebrate a decade of The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth with this free update that adds online multiplayer to its action-packed runs. Players team up in groups of up to four through Friend Match with Steam friends, Public Match with strangers, or Quick Match with random groups to battle basement depths. Matches blend into existing modes, letting teams tackle daily runs and challenges while unlocking achievements together. An Emote Wheel and text chat help teammates signal secret rooms, suggest paths, or decide item picks, with votes to remove disruptive players. Many items receive buffs for better power and fun in solo or group play. Action fans who crave cooperative depth and shared progress will find this the definitive way to conquer terrifying challenges.

Celebrating the 10th anniversary of the release of The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth, this FREE DLC update takes Isaac to a more terrifying place than any challenge he’s faced yet. That’s right: Isaac is going ONLINE. 

YOU’RE NOT ALONE ANYMORE

In The Binding of Isaac: Repentance+ Beta, players can start an online "Friend Match" run with other players from their Steam friends list, teaming up to battle through the depths of the basement in groups of up to four. There's also a "Public Match" option for starting or joining an online match with strangers, and even a "Quick Match" option that lets you jump right in and team up with a group of online players chosen at random.

MAKE PROGRESS TOGETHER

Online matches are fully integrated into the previously existing game experience—players can unlock achievements while playing online and play in all game modes, taking on challenges and participating in daily runs together.

COMMUNICATE AND COOPERATE

The new Emote Wheel function allows basic communication between online teammates: pointing out secret rooms or tinted rocks, suggesting a path to take, even rolling dice to determine which player gets to take a valuable item. The Repentance+ Beta also supports text chat between online players within your current group. You can even vote to kick out unruly or uncooperative teammates, so behave!

NEW ITEM BUFFS

In addition to the new online multiplayer features, many in-game items have been buffed or rebalanced, making them more powerful and/or more fun to use in both single-player and multiplayer runs. These adjustments were directly influenced by feedback from players who were asked to identify the weakest or least desirable items in the game.
