Evade and Hide: Initially, you'll be nearly powerless in a direct confrontation. You must hold your breath, conceal yourself carefully, and use the faint candlelight offered to the immortals to mask your human presence, avoiding the terrifying figures that roam the courtyard.
Complete Guest Tasks: Can you be certain that all guests lodging in the temple are truly "human"? At night, you can risk completing the tasks they leave behind (prayers, item searches, revenge) in exchange for precious supplies or increased temple reputation, thereby boosting your income.
Take the Initiative: You can use precious ammunition for physical exorcism, chant sutras to liberate spirits, or draw your sword to confront the Evil Things head-on. Sometimes, taking the initiative is a viable choice.
