Imperionis is a single-player tactical RPG in which you take the role of a Roman commander and lead a century through a military campaign in Gaul. The campaign lasts 150 in-game days, with three actions available each day. You decide whether to spend them on training, treatment, rest, camp development, or advancing along the route.
During the campaign, text-based events present several possible actions. Their outcomes depend on the commander’s attributes, the condition of the century, equipment, and a D20 roll. Your decisions affect health, morale, supplies, troop strength, and the conditions of future battles.
The commander and the century develop separately. The commander improves personal attributes and combat skills while acquiring weapons, armor, and travel equipment. The army unlocks new doctrines, orders, characters, and units, including legionaries, auxiliary infantry, ranged troops, cavalry, standard-bearers, scorpions, and onagers. Each troop branch earns its own veterancy and performs a distinct role within the battle group.

separate veterancy progression for infantry, ranged troops, cavalry, standard-bearers, and siege crews;
varied objectives, including eliminating the enemy, holding a position, breaking through a formation, protecting a unit, and defeating an enemy commander;
personal duels against enemies who break through to the commander, using his attributes, combat skills, and equipment;
camp development and management of supplies, medicine, morale, and troop strength;
campaign-ending death or loss of the century, followed by a legacy system for future campaigns.
Check results, chosen development paths, unlocked units, and battle losses affect how the campaign unfolds. Both the century’s tactical battles and the commander’s personal duels can be played manually or resolved through autobattle.
