PicoMix by NuSan features games made by creator NuSan over a 8 years period of time. It’s a compilation of works in multiple genres, like platform, puzzle, crafting, or base building for a total of about 20 fun games and experiments, some will provide hours of interesting challenges while others can be completed in a few minutes.

All of the games were made using “fantasy console” Pico 8 with its recognizable 16-color palette, crunchy sweet 128x128 resolution pixel art and 4-channel chiptune

Thanks to the use of Zepto 8 emulator, an optional wide mode is included in some of the games to go beyond Pico 8’s usual square screen, as well as visual filters to tweak your experience (scanlines, CRT, toon, minit...)

The included games are :

P.Craft

P.Craft is a crafting game in which you wake up on a deserted island, and need to survive. Gather materials and build your tools. Explore the area and find a cave. Will you find a way to escape the island ?

Combo Pool

Combo Pool is an arcade puzzle game where you throw colored marbles against each other.

If two marbles of the same color make contact, they merge and upgrade to the next color. Your lifebar diminishes with the number of balls on the field. If you lifebar is empty, you enter in a sudden death mode, and your last ball must save you by removing some balls from the field.

Combo Pool was made for Lexaloffle’s second Pico 8 game jam in 2016 in seven days and won first place, the jam theme was “Chain Reaction”

Cyclo 8

Cyclo 8 is a physics bike game, carefully drive your tiny bike to avoid falling

7 levels of increasing difficulty, 15 optional collectibles per levels, Time clock for speedruns

Deathless is possible

Cyclo 8 was NuSan's first Pico 8 game, released in 2015

Variation: regular, wide, reversed regular, reversed wide

Flooded caves 

Dig caves to redirect an inevitable rising water until you can save everyone  

It's flood season, dig caves to redirect an inevitable rising water until you can save everyone 

Your digging power is limited, it recharges over time, so be careful where and when you dig. At regular interval, you can save someone by sending your rescue team 

This game has been made in 2022 for game jam Ludum Dare 50 in 48h, the jam theme was “Delay the Inevitable” 

Dami & Flo 

Organize your delivery train to provide requested products at each station 

Dami and Flo are two workers on a delivery train. At each station, their job is to take input packages at the bottom and store them somewhere in the wagon so they can be easily delivered at a future train stop. 

You can play with a friend in a local splitscreen mode  

Dami and Flo was a gift made for two friends in 2021 during a tiny "secret santa” gamejam amongst friends 

Zebulon: A Lost Cat

You are a cute cat! Jump around, explore and collect food 

Zebulon the cat is lost in a strange place, but he has a lot of courage and curiosity quickly replaces fear as he explores and unravels the world around him. 

It also helps that smelly green food is everywhere to grab! 

No matter the traps and falls, Zebulon can always get back up, he will learn new tricks and reach higher and deeper places. Even death is not the end but only a slight set back and an invitation to wander further 

Zebulon is a tiny 2D platformer with metroidvania mechanics where you will have to use skills and observation to awaken Zebulon's powers in a world filled with surprises and tricky environments.

Path of Aratron 

Control a little demon to solve puzzles using esoteric programming 

In Path of Aratron, you can send a little demon to visit Dreams. You can control the demon by placing stones on Glyphs 

Each stone is part of a path and will trigger one after the other once you start the summoning ritual 

Solve 25 puzzles of increasing difficulty, you will need to carefully plan ahead and reuse part of your stones, as you only have a small number of them 

Defacto 

Build a large, automated factory chain on an isolated asteroid, sell your products and send rockets into space.  

You must install miners to collect raw resources, transport them toward furnaces, and combine them in factories 

The final goal is to send rockets full of robots and by doing so continue to explore the galaxy.
