Rocket.io is a multiplayer action and racing game available on PC in Early Access. Players control vehicles in arena-style matches where the goal centers on claiming territory by laying trails and closing loops to secure areas inside them.
Gameplay
The core loop involves leaving your controlled territory to draw a trail across the arena and then returning to close the loop, claiming all space enclosed by it. Larger loops carry higher risk because the exposed trail becomes a vulnerability that rivals can cut to eliminate you. Outside protected zones, the trail serves as the main weak point, so timing and positioning matter when expanding control. Power-ups scattered around the map provide temporary advantages that reward precise use during aggressive or defensive maneuvers. Vehicle handling combines racing speed with the need for careful path planning to avoid exposing long trails.
Matches support 2 to 8 teams, and a team stays in contention only while at least one driver remains active. Elimination occurs when every member of a team is taken out simultaneously, which encourages coordinated defense rather than lone-wolf play. The system rewards groups that protect each other while pushing for bigger claims.
Game Modes
Play revolves around team-based elimination matches where the last surviving team or teams claim victory through territorial dominance and rival removals. The format emphasizes both individual trail management and group coordination, with no separate single-player or solo modes detailed at this stage. Matches take place across distinct arenas that introduce varied layouts and obstacles to influence strategy.
Maps and Environments
Several arenas shape the experience. The Orbital Stadium offers open space suited to large loops. A giant Kids' Room provides a playful scale with different sightlines. The Wastelands feature rugged terrain. A Football Field includes a massive rolling ball that can interfere with trails. The Aztec Jungle adds dense cover, while a neon-lit Parking Lot at night creates a more confined, reflective setting. Additional worlds are planned for future updates.
Vehicles and Customization
More than 25 vehicles are available, ranging from sports cars and muscle cars to vans, pickups, and a fire engine. Each can be stored and displayed in a personal garage. Customization includes four tiers of body kits covering front and rear bumpers, side skirts, spoilers, and roofs. Players choose from 32 colors paired with matching decals, plus roof accessories and distinct horn sounds. Further vehicles are scheduled for release.
Is It Worth Playing?
Rocket.io suits players who enjoy casual to mid-core multiplayer racing combined with light strategic territory control. The team elimination rules and trail vulnerability create tense moments where coordination pays off, while the loop-claiming mechanic offers satisfying progression within each match. As an Early Access title, the game continues to receive new maps and vehicles, which keeps the core loop fresh for those who like experimenting with different vehicle builds and arena layouts. Fans of quick-session multiplayer action with a twist on classic territory games will find the most appeal here, especially in groups of four to eight where defending teammates adds another layer to the racing focus.
