Shujinkou Manga Reader is a free manga app that brings the critically acclaimed JRPG Shujinkou to life through original manga stories, character moments, music, and future reading-focused features.
Set in a world divided into six distinct nations, Shujinkou follows Shu, Jin, Kou, and their companions as they face intelligent, language-devouring Akuma (demons) and the dangers hidden throughout each land. The first release introduces the Genya and Sabaku Arcs, the first two nations in this world.
This app includes a One Shot manga that explores a mission connected to the events of the game and what happens after the battle. Shu, Jin, Kou, Shirouto, and Toushirou investigate the ruined temple Moku Jinja after reports of gruesome murders, taking them through labyrinth exploration, fierce combat, Kanakae Orbs, and more. The second half of the One Shot showcases the daily lives, humor, friendships, and wider cast of Shujinkou through a fun beach party filled with sushi, swimsuits, and more.
Created with support from a game planner who worked on Persona 5, this manga project was developed to introduce Shujinkou's world, characters, and story-driven RPG experience in a more approachable, story-first format.
Shujinkou Manga Reader is completely free at launch, with more manga stories and chapters planned throughout the year. Major educational-oriented features are also being planned for the future.
