Summoned by foolish cultists on Halloween night, tearing a rift through to 'The Other Side' -a dimension of pure evil, you're set loose in suburban neighborhoods, wooded areas complete with cabins, sleepaway camps and more. You'll build power through fear. The more blood you spill and terror you spread, the blurrier the lines between the world we call home and The Other Side become. You'll face other -increasingly difficult- horrors as they pour into the land of the living, bringing their cursed loot and ill gotten gains with them.
Choose your Manifestation: The base game allows you to choose from 3 classes with more planned for the future. Though these classes start with different stat distributions any and all loot can be shared across all classes allowing for near infinite build diversity.
Hack, Slash and Loot:Â Kill them all and strip them clean. In classic ARPG fashion, it's all about the loot. From cursed kitchen knives to crazy carnival mallets you'll be diving in for years to come trying to collect that build defining drop.Â
Iconic Weapons and Character Building:Â From chainsaws to severed limbs, machetes to bladed gloves and hockey masks, each item in the game has a chance to roll with rare and random affixes and abilities. Maybe you'll find the perfect wig for your killer clown, or want to roll a new slasher (Physical Manifestation) when the mechanic drops his lucky drill. Create an army of horrors and share their loot as you see fit through the mirror of manifestations.
Level up, choose skills and explore: Each run is semi-procedurally generated with points of interest and rare enemies. You'll want to look behind every tree and leave no tombstone unturned searching for leprechauns and lycanthropes, skinny-dippers and skinless spooks to grow your fear and gain in power.Â
VHS Horror Aesthetic: The game captures the unsettling feel of retro horror films with a VHS-inspired style—grainy textures, static interference, and color bleed recreate the eerie imperfections of analog video.
Adaptive Loot System: Discover a vast array of gear, from iconic weapons and cursed relics to armor imbued with supernatural power. The loot pool is rich with possibilities, offering unique attributes and affixes that encourage players to experiment with builds and hunt for those elusive, game-changing items.
Semi-Procedural Generation: Levels seamlessly blend handcrafted elements with procedural systems, crafting unpredictable environments and enemy layouts on each run. Every step forward can trigger a shift in reality, with hidden threats lurking around every corner.
Followers and Fanatics: Like movie monsters and serial killers alike, you’ll amass your own cult of fans, followers and fanatics. Each Follower in The Horror has unique abilities, complete with an alternate persona when crossing into The Other Side. The Jock becomes a teenage werewolf. The Babysitter pulses with healing energy. The Mechanic boosts rare loot drops, while Cultists channel eldritch forces for unholy buffs. Stoners trip between worlds and roll natural 20s on luck. You'll meet Nerds, Preppers, Cheerleaders, Bikers, Burger flippers and a few others along the way.
Dynamic Encounters: Face off against random events, elite enemies, and mini-bosses that emerge unpredictably, making every playthrough a unique, tension-filled experience. The game constantly adapts, throwing curveballs to keep you on edge.
Lore Variations: Explore environments steeped in ever-evolving backstories, where each playthrough unveils a new narrative backdrop and challenges. Whether it's ghosts of plague victims in a haunted hospital or vengeful spirits of a cursed forest, the shifting lore shapes your encounters.

Mirror of Manifestation: Transmogrify your appearance with collected from clothes to weapons so that you don't look like a clown. Unless you want to look like a clown, which is encouraged... and scary.
