Arcane Legion is a free to play single player strategy game that combines army building with large scale auto battles in a fantasy setting. Gameplay
The core loop centers on preparing an army between fights and then watching it perform in combat. Gold earned from victories funds new recruits drawn from 25 human unit cards covering infantry, cavalry, archers, artillery and spellcasters. Matching three copies of a unit allows promotion for stronger performance. A real time 3D preview shows the automatically deployed formation before battle begins, and players can move the free camera to select their preferred viewpoint.
During combat the soldiers fight on their own while the commander selects from a fixed set of four spells. These spells come from an eleven spell collection and include protective wards, slowing or stunning effects, burning damage, heavy impacts and cleansing. Mana costs, charges and recharge timers require careful timing. The battles feature large scale 3D clashes between human and monster forces set in a stylized valley across three chapter themes.
Game Modes
The game offers a single player campaign consisting of 35 elimination waves. After each victory players choose rewards that influence the next run. The permanent Arcane Legacy system unlocks additional troops and commanders across multiple playthroughs. Different recruitment choices, commander loadouts and reward combinations create varied approaches to the same campaign structure.
There are no multiplayer modes or battle sandboxes. Formations deploy automatically and the experience remains focused on campaign progression rather than manual unit control or competitive play.
Commanders and Progression
Ten commanders become available through unlocks, each providing unique bonuses and a preset four spell loadout. The Arcane Legacy progression carries forward across runs, expanding the pool of available units and commanders. Local campaign saves allow players to resume progress at any time, and an in game language selector supports ten interface languages.
Battle speed options include pause, 0.5x, 1x and 2x settings to suit different viewing preferences during the automatic fights.
