Beluga Polo is a free-to-play casual sports game that brings an arcade take on water polo to PC. Two teams of four swimmers compete for a single ball in short, chaotic matches filled with passes, shots, and physical plays. Gameplay
Each match lasts three minutes and centers on fluid movement and ball handling in the water. Players swim using the stick or directional input while aiming throws with a flick motion. A straight flick sends the ball directly toward a target for shots or passes. Curving upward produces a lob over defenders or the goalie, and curving downward lets the ball skip across the surface. Switching control to a teammate happens with a simple tap, keeping the action centered on the ball carrier. Stealing the ball requires a tap on an opponent, and dunking an opposing player who holds the ball uses a double tap.
A power gauge fills through successful passes, steals, and goals. Once full, players can activate one of three temporary abilities for five seconds: Fast Swim for quicker movement, Strong Shot for more powerful throws, or No-Steal to prevent opponents from taking the ball. The server acts as referee, eliminating any network advantage for either side. Full support for keyboard and mouse or controller ensures precise input across different setups.
Game Modes
Ranked quick match uses an Elo-style rating system and maintains a leaderboard for competitive play. Players can host private matches and invite others through a shared code for direct head-to-head sessions. Against the computer, three difficulty levels are available, with goalies that actively defend their net on Easy, Normal, or Hard settings. Cross-play connects PC players with those on mobile versions, creating a single shared player base for matchmaking.
Environments and Customization
Eight distinct pools provide visual variety, each featuring its own weather effects, background elements like birds or boats, and lighting conditions. The list includes an indoor arena, an outdoor lido, a mountain lake, the open sea, an arctic pool, a jungle setting, an oasis, and a harbour. Ten colour sets allow squads to stand out, ranging from standard caps to themed options such as Orcish, Beluga, and Shark designs.
