In an imagined Three Kingdoms, nightmare shades wearing the faces of famous generals march on the passes. Three Kingdoms: Wardens of the Pass is a single-player 3D tower defense game that brings together defensive planning, battlefield command and the powers of legendary generals. Hold the passes, read the roads and decide where your next order will matter most.
Make every position count
Build on fixed defensive sites and combine arrow towers, armor-piercing ballistae, flame and thunder defenses, shield and spear barracks, and general platforms. Balance your supplies against branching routes, firing coverage and the positions where your troops can hold the enemy. Seven defense types give you different tools for the same urgent question: where will you stop the next wave?
Recruit legends, one victory at a time
Begin with Liu Bei alone and win new generals to your cause as you clear the campaign, up to a roster of 13 that includes Zhao Yun, Zhuge Liang, Zhou Yu and Cao Cao. Field any three generals you have recruited; each battle features the generals best suited to its threat and lowers the cost of their first platform. Move generals and barracks squads, focus dangerous enemies and unleash ultimates, some of which empower your whole battlefield at once.
Turn the battlefield against them
Every map holds its own mechanisms: drum formations that speed up your attacks, rockfalls that pin the enemy in place, talisman lanterns that mark foes for extra damage, fire oil that sets a whole river slick ablaze, nightmare-sealing arrays that strip shields and silence skills, and sluice gates that flood a road. Each mission gives you a limited number of uses, so timing is everything.
Pause. Plan. Turn the tide.
Take your time before the first wave. During battle, pause to arrange your next orders or move the action forward at 1x, 2x or 4x speed. Equip up to three tactical spells and manage a limited mana supply across damage, control, healing and support.
A campaign through the passes
Defend 18 battlefields across six chapters, from villages and stone bridges to river fortresses and mountain approaches. Every battle opens with a face-off between your generals and the shade leading the attack, and ends with a boss who will test the way you build and command. Three difficulty settings let you choose the pressure, and the campaign map marks the hardest difficulty you have conquered on each pass.
