Mana Expel is a 2.5D fast paced action platformer with stealth elements. In the near future, magic has just been discovered and those who master its power are dreaded and feared like gods. You play as Juliana, a proud and mysterious young woman with a criminal past, who dares to infiltrate the domain of these gods, expelling them from their undeserved thrones and bringing an end to their reign.
Be fast with confidence you won't be seen, Be clever and use the environment to your advantage, Be daring and face against foes the world cowers from.
- Be Daring: Advance trough levels crawling with enemies, and emerge on the other side unseen and unscratched.
- Be Fast: Avoid enemy detection by cleverly using dashes, air-dashes, wall jumps and sometimes even bouncing off enemies, if you're feeling fancy.
- Be clever: Use the environment to turn the enemy's own home against them, be it by removing the floor under them, or by making traps fall over their heads, among others.
- Be ambitious: Constantly seek to improve yourself with new gadgets at Lou's shop, find special drinks throughout the levels to have permanent upgrades and defeat challenging enemies to obtain powerful new arrows that allows you to deal with any kind of situation.
- Be a legend: Expel the so called gods from their throne and show the world that anyone can fall.
Society changed forever when the ability of humans to change and control their environment, or simply put magic, was first discovered. Very suddenly, anyone, either low-profile employees or dishonorable thieves, had in their hands the potential to change history forever.
In 2051, after 20 years of intense chaos, society finally settled. In Star Valley, one of the biggest metropolises in the world, Four powerful individuals gained fame around the world as the most powerful and unstoppable wizards, each of them being revered and feared like gods. Destruction is routine in this city, as the escalating war waged between these "gods" is affecting more and more people that have nothing to do with it. All have different reasons but all want the same goal: dominate the city and have complete freedom within it
You play as Juliana Grey, a mysterious young woman that troughout her life she survived with nothing but her abilities and wits, robbing and dealing with powerful wizards in order to get by. While the rest of the world cowers in fear, she's more than confident that she can get by anyone without being seen, and deal with them with nothing more than her trusty crossbow.
With unsought but welcomed help from her hacker friend Eliza, she plans to hunt down all of the "Gods" of Star Valley and liberate herself and the people from their tyranny all the meanwhile proving to the world you don't need to match their power and destruction to fight back.
